aap hindi medium se exam dete hai to isse aapke Industrial Training pe koi fark nahi padna chahiye. Meri jaankari ke anusaar, aap Industril Training ke liye utne hi eligible hai jitne English medium ke students.
Baaki aap jis company me IT ke liye apply kar rahe hai, uspar nirbhar karta hai

  13. Hi, I am sorry I am not in a position to advise you on something that is not permissible as per CA Rules. I would encourage you to take up articleship as this will help you become a better CA. Also, as you are registered as an article, you are legally not allowed to get into employment and thus I cannot advise you where you can take up a job.
    Apologies !!

  16. hi Vikas sir,
I am C.A final student and i want to go for my industrial training, its still 15months left and i know max. is 12 months and min. is 9mths for industrial taining, but in order to give intimation to my current principal its 3 months b4 i join. but my current principal is refusing to grant me permission on the ground that he made me learn the things and its their turn to get the work from me. What shall i do? Plz. Help me.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi,

I am really sorry for this but I don't have an answer for you at this stage. The only option I think you'd have is to convince your principal for allowing you to go for Industrial training. This way, you will be able to gain more exposure and will lead to his reputation building that his training skills has made you a better professional.

  20. Hello sir i am Pranjal here.i am a student of ipcc and am doing my articleship from the past 1.5 years . Now i am planning to pursue industrial training .However i am still a bit confused regarding the scope of industrial training and its benifits that would lead to a better carreer for us . i would humbly request u to help me know the same. Also i would request u to tell me that hw is industriaL training different from articleship training.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Pranjal, Industrial training helps u get an "industry" exposure as opposed to 'audit' training. If I can explain that way, Articleship period does not allow you to get into employment (a job) due to the requirements of the articleship training. Industrial Training is like doing a job in a large company and you can feel of a job, which is especially helpful if you want to get into employment after being a CA.

    Hope this helps.

  32. Dear

I want to do industrial training in last year of my articleship.I am in dilemma over the leaves. Is industrial training considered an extension of articleship. and how my leaves will be calculated in Industrial training. If suppose I have to my credit 100 days in two years of my articleship training .Can I carry forward these leaves into industrial training or how many maximum number of leaves can we take in Industrial training...Plz answer I require this clarification on urgent basis

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi "Anonymous",

For purposes of leave in case of Industrial Training, a person undergoing articleship is guided by the rules of the organisation where you are undergoing articleship.

Suppose if you enrol into 9 months of Industrial Training and you already have 100 days of credit from your articleship, if the organisation allows this leave to you during IT, this would mean that you would take leave for more than 3 months during 9 months of training. Practical? Indeed NO!

However, some companies do consider your leave credit in exceptional cases like you have to appear for your Final exams (multiple attempts).

Bottom Line: Leave depends on the Leave policies of the Organisation where you are undergoing IT.

But i need to now ponder over options in IT as if i choose banking sector or FMCG or Manufactuer... though i am thinkin to go for banking ( as i have done Internal Auditor in a manufacturer ), being a new world for me and more things to learn.
    Please advice

    Replies
    1. Dear Shekhar, which sector to join IT into would depend on what your future career aspirations are. If you are planning to joining Banking sector and are able to join a Bank for IT, there is nothing better than that.

Generally, the experience you get during Industrial Training is aimed at more towards organisational culture and management skills than technicals.

In short, if you have coices to join an industry you want to join later, choose that. Else, it really wont matter much. I'd go for FMCG.

    1. Prerana, I do not encourage any action which is not legitimate. Further, for CA, you are required to inform the Institute of any degrees that you have. So if you are doing B.Com, technically, you are required to inform the institute of the same.

  45. Hi,

I finished my PE II in November 2004 and then had enrolled myself for articleship. I completed 1 year and 2 months and then terminated it as I'd enrolled myself in another full time course. Unlike my other friends, I did not want to take up dummy articleship and hence applied for termination. I'm working for almost 5 years now and want to pursue CA again.
Wanted to know if I now want to aplly for articleship in good firms- say big fours etc, would they take me?
Also how good an option is to do CFA alongwith CA? What the career prospects for the same.

    Thanks

  64. Good morning Sir
First of all thanks a lot for posting such informative stuff and helping us. Sir I am about to complete the 2nd year of my articleship in an average Ca firm but somehow I managed to get a call from City bank, Delhi for Industrial training but they are providing me with only 2.5 months of leaves for exam preparation which is due in November, 2014. I really want to grab this opportunity but I am confused should I go for it or not as the leaves are too less to give both groups simultaneously. In your view, doing I.T. now and delaying my attempt prove to be a better option than not doing I.T. at all. Please guide me Sir.

    1. Dear Archana,

I would recommend to go for IT and still try for Finals in Nov 2014. 2.5 months is good enough for Finals (exactly the time I got for mine in 2007) and one can prepare and still clear if done diligently.

However, under no circumstances is delaying exams recommended.

  66. Hi Sir,

My 2nd year is ending in April 2014, and I'm planning to go for industrial training. By when should I start applying to companies? And where can we find vacancies in companies? There are a lot of companies and its difficult to keep track of all of them at a time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Achuthraj, You may start applying for companies starting March 2014 as you can pursue IT between 9 and 12 months. Even if you take a month or so to get IT, you would still be able to complete it.

As for vacancies, it's difficult to say, you would have to take the hard route of applying to as many companies as you can, unless you have references through which you can get IT.

      Delete
    2. Yes, your local ICAI Branch / office should also post vacancies as they arise. Check out that too. You could get some openings.

    3. Can I start articleship immediately after i complete my 2nd year without any delay? If im not able to do that, will my articleship period get extended. For eg: since my 2nd year ends on 30 April 2014, but my IT starts only by say 15 May 2014, will that have effect on my articleship period?

  68. Hello Sir,

I have my articleship period completing on 30th November, '14. I was considering undergoing IT. But would the same be advisable considering that I would also need a leave of around 4 months, that would be from July onwards?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Urvashi, I always recommend Industrial training. However, whether this is advisable or not considering your leave requirements purely depends on whether your employer (under whom you're doing your Industrial training) would allow you leave. Usually they don't. You can certainly take your chances but do mention during your interview about your upcoming leave. At best, they may ask you to extend your training period. Worth the take I guess.

  75. How are Emami and Siemens for industrial training? Which one should I go for?

    1. Both are great companies to work for. Siemens would give a more global exposure whereas Emami would probably have more depth in knowledge. If you have a global mindset, go for Siemens, if you have an inclination for Indian industries, go for Emami.
Given a choice, i would go for Siemens. But that's completely ur call.

  78. Dear sir, there are a few queries regarding industrial training:

1.Does the company give leaves for Final exam?

    2. I have not taken more than 20 leaves in the past 1 and half year . So can my leaves be carried forward to industrial training?

3.Is industrial training better that articleship training?

4.How to approach companies for industrial training? these big companies do not have a industrial training option in their job portals.

    5. Do we need recommendation from high-profile employees of those companies to get placed in a company?

    Also..

I have a doubt, will the principal allow me for industrial training? Our firm is very under employed. So i am scared what if he doesn't give me permission to go for industrial training.

And another doubt is I am eligible to join Industrial training from September 2014. I have to inform my principal 3 months prior to that. i.e., in June. When is the right time to apply for companies so that they do not call me during the 3 months period.

what if I notify to my principal, and I don't get IT, i'll be in a bit of trouble with my principal.

    Please advice.

    2. Dear Pavithra,

Under Industrial training,, the student is generally guided by the leave policy of the organisation. Technically, if the organisation allows you only 2 days of leave per month, you will be able to take only such leave under IT.

However, practically, usually companies allow longer leaves for exams purposes only.

Again, your leaves do not get carried forward to IT. [To understand this, if you have not taken any leave in 2 years of articleship, you cannot expect the organisation to allow all such leave to you as this would compromise both your training and their productivity].

Industrial Training gives you an experience of corporate world and is very helpful if you want to get into a service / job. However, Articleship is as important. So cant say which is better.

You need to approach individual companies to check for IT vacancies. Recommendations may not be necessary.

Generally you have to tell your principal that you intend to do IT. Try searching for companies and leave your Articleship only if you have got IT. Generally principals are accommodative of IT.

      Hope this helps.

  82. Dear Sir,
First of all, all the information available here is quite helpful. I appreciate your valuable efforts.
I have a query. I did 2 yr 3 month training with a practicing CA and the enrolled for IT. I did IT for 1 year ( 9 month for completing training and 3 more months). My excess leaves were 180 at the time i enrolled for IT. I took a leave for 7 days in my IT period. Now the question is Whether those extra 3 months of IT will be considered for calculating my extension period????
    Please respond sir.

  86. Dear Dishant, Technically you can complete the extended 2 months at either your Industrial Training (IT) company or your CA Firm. You only need to ensure that you have completed minimum 9 months with the IT company.

However, it would be recommended that you continue with the IT company as otherwise you may have to fillup the forms again and reah out to a CA firm who may not hire you for only 2 months of training.

Reverse Mortgage in India

Imagine a situation where you grow old and have managed to buy a house. However, you could not save enough for your retirement. You certainly need money to manage your day to day finances since you are retired and have no fixed source of income or your income is not enough to meet your finances. Reverse Mortgage is the answer for you. Reverse Mortgage is a type of mortgage available to senior citizens in which a home-owner can borrow money against the value of his/her home. No repayment of the mortgage (principal or interest) is required until the borrower dies or the home is sold. After accounting for the initial mortgage amount, the rate at which interest accrues, the length of the loan and rate of home price appreciation, the transaction is structured so that the loan amount will not exceed the value of the home over the life of the loan. Accounting for Foreign Exchange Forward Contracts

FOREIGN EXCHANGE FORWARD CONTRACTS An enterprise having exposure to multiple currencies by virtue receivable and payables (e.g. import and export) is likely to be worried about the exchange rate fluctuations that may result in gains and losses in the future. In order to hedge its position and to avoid the losses due to foreign exchange rate changes, the enterprise may enter into a forward exchange contract to manage the amount of the reporting currency required or available at the settlement date of transaction. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial reporting Standards (IFRS) provides that the difference between the forward rate and the exchange rate at the date of the transaction should be recognised as income or expense over the life of the contract. Further the profit or loss arising on cancellation or renewal of a forward exchange contract should be recognised as income or as expense for the period. Example: Suppose MSD Ltd needs USD 500,0
